Our Expert Setup & Managed Foundation

Our service goes beyond simple provisioning. While the hosting infrastructure remains dedicated to you, our value is providing an expert, secure, and ready-to-use foundation. We act as your deployment and security partner for the core operating system.

We handle the critical initial setup and ongoing base-level security:

Hardware Provisioning: Managing the order, setup, and custom add-ons for your physical dedicated server.
Operating System Installation: Installing your chosen Microsoft Windows OS version and completing the initial configurations, including the necessary Microsoft licenses.
Managed Security Foundation: We protect your server with an Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solution and manage all essential Operating System security patches and updates to keep the core environment secure.
Initial Configuration: Configuring the environment to meet your exact specifications before handover.

Once the server is fully optimized and secured, we provide the administrative credentials and full access, giving you immediate, secure control over a perfectly configured dedicated server.

Your Ongoing Responsibilities (Post-Handover)

After the handover, you maintain full administrator control and responsibility for managing your specific applications and data:

Application Management: Installing, configuring, and maintaining all non-Operating System application software (e.g., web servers, databases, client software).
Access Security: Implementing and managing access control to the server, including user permissions, login policies, and application-level firewalls.
Backups & Recovery: Designing and executing your comprehensive backup and recovery strategy. Alternatively, we are happy to provide a dedicated, cost-effective quote for managed backup services tailored to your server.

Post Handover Notes:

24/7 support: After-hours and weekend support call-outs typically dispatch within 4 hours and will be charged at a rate of R400 per hour.
DDoS detection: All our servers are installed with an EDR Agent and employs Monitoring and Alerting systems along with a default DDoS detection and mitigation system to filter out malicious traffic, redirecting larger attacks to an international provider. Automated detection and diversion can cause latency issues making gaming platforms, which need specialized DDoS mitigation, unplayable during attacks. The system is effective for standard attacks but unsuitable for latency-sensitive applications like gaming, and these measures are essential and cannot be removed.
99.9% network uptime: The cloud partner offers a 99.9% network uptime guarantee for the dedicated server's infrastructure, which ensures operational reliability over a monthly basis. This guarantee means there can be a maximum of 43 minutes of downtime per month. The commitment supports the stability and continuous connection of your applications to the internet.
Unlimited traffic: Acceptable Use Policy applies.
Hyper-V: Virtualization of the server is prohibited to maintain and ensure the server security.
Data Center: These servers are hosted in South Africa and operates with a fully redundant power system and high levels of redundancy in cooling and connectivity, which aligns with the design principles of a Tier IV facility.
